How to Dress for Bikram Yoga

Bikram yoga is an intensive and hot practice. That’s why clothes are an important aspect, which must be considered in advance. Check whether you've all necessary items for the class in order to make it a pleasing experience, rather than an uncomfortable activity.

Towels

Have a minimum of two towels along with you: someone to put on the mat below your head and another one to dry yourself off through the class. Take one or two small towels for the class for wiping of the sweat; avoid achieving this with your hands because they find yourself wet and fail you while holding postures.

Tops

A high level woman, you can get away with wearing a sports bra that matches you well and provides adequate support on your Bikram class. Opt for a lightweight tshirt if you want to cover up a bit more. Men can wear tank tops or fitted t-shirts. Avoid long-sleeved shirts or sweatshirts in addition to shirts that are loose fitting and flow from the body. You'll end up tangled within the fabric. As the class continues, men can remove their shirts.

Fabrics

You don't want to wear cotton to a Bikram yoga class. The cotton will absorb all of your sweat and become a piece of wet, leaden clothing. You will be weighed down by the heavy, sweat-soaked fabric and also the entire experience will be unpleasant. Nylon and polyester will pull sweat from the skin and let it evaporate. All kinds of fabric that claims to help you stay dry should be suitable for hot yoga.

Your best bet could be to look at clothing designed for individuals who run, since the image of yoga isn't typically a category full of sweating people. Runners do sweat, and clothing manufacturers have started making clothing that pulls the sweat from the body.

Don't Worry

Bikram yoga calls for skimpy clothing. It isn't the time to worry about your cellulite or perhaps a mole on your thigh. If you're feeling self-conscious in your shorts and tshirt, just remember that everyone in the class can there be to get fit and enhance their health, and chances are no one is taking a look at you.

Change of Clothes

Bring a collection of clean clothes to put on within the changing area at the end of class. Pick clothing that's light and comfortable. You probably won't wish to slide into your skinny jeans after sweating to have an hour. The time after Bikram it's time for your stretchy, comfortable yoga pants.
